Fettuccini Faux-Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli

This is not even close to authentic Alfredo sauce, but it is delicious.
The white pepper is the secret ingredient. At least a little bit will greatly improve the dish. If you add enough, the sauce will have a nice warm heat.
Cook.
1 lbs fettuccini
  • Steam, ~5 min.
  • Rinse with cold water to stop the cooking.
12 oz broccoli florets
Brown, remove to bowl.
1 lbs chicken breast, bite-size chunks
Soften.
1/2 med onion
Add and soften.
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • Simmer until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth and thickened slightly.
  • Stir in chicken and broccoli and heat through.
  • Toss with fettuccini in a large bowl.
2 c chicken broth
12 oz cream cheese
1/2 t white pepper
