Black Pepper Beef

This is based on a basic brown Chinese sauce I found on some random internet site along with a few other sauces.
Sauce
Mix in bowl.
1 1/2 c water
2 T cornstarch
4 T soy sauce
2 T molasses
Beef
Brown in batches, remove to small bowl.
2 lbs flank steak, sliced bite size
Aromatics
Soften.
1 med onion, sliced
1 thumb ginger, minced
  • (This is medium-hot, which is too much for some people. 1/2 T is milder.)
  • Until fragrant, ~30 sec.
1/2 head garlic, minced
1 T black pepper
Greens
Wilt leaves and soften stems.
1 head bok choy, chopped
Finish
  • Add sauce.
  • Cook until thickened.
  • Serve over white rice and topped with crispy chow mein noodles.
